My three month paid sabbatical

As you may know by now, I’m officially back from my maternity leave. I took three months off and got paid to do it….well, actually, I paid myself! Having a paid leave is something unheard of for many holistic business owners, but I was committed to taking a very-well paid maternity leave so I could get to know my baby during those precious early months, completely nurture myself and be supported in my business. This was my first time stepping out of my business for such a long period of time, so it took a little planning and preparation, but it went so great, I’m considering my next sabbatical! If being able to take three months off in your business while still earning a fabulous in’come sounds like something you’d love to be able to do, then make sure to be on the lookout for my upcoming teleclass where I’m going to be sharing with you exactly how I created my own very-well-paid-sabbatical and how you can, too.

Now that I’m back, people have been asking me if I’m returning full time or part time and the answer to that question just doesn’t fit the normal mold. I work part-time running a full-time business! I’m “working” part-time, (that is – totally tapped into the joy of creating and serving) while earning a full-time income. The beauty of running your own show is that you get to create your own hours and design your lifestyle. It reminds me of when I first started in business and I was working traditional 9 to 5 hours. My husband, a lifelong entrepreneur, gently reminded me after a few months that I was acting like I still had a corporate job, going to my office by nine and closing up shop at the five o’clock bell! He was a mirror for me, as I share in this week’s article on my blog. I needed him to call me out on this so I could step into creating more flexibility and freedom in my business…one of the reasons I became an entrepreneur in the first place! Do you ever feel stuck in the 9 to 5 mentality, like I did, where a voice inside your head is telling you the only way to achieve is to work harder? If you’re like me, it was an old habit that needed to be released. And today, my sweet baby boy reminds me again to continue creating the lifestyle I desire. Here we are recently enjoying a warm, summer day.

Thriving Together,
