From Overwhelm to 6-Figures

In the last month we’ve worked with several VIP clients who wanted to know how to make a quantum leap in serving more people. They wanted to reach 6- and 7-figures without burning out. They all had one thing in common…too many great ideas for how to grow their business and not enough time to implement them all.

After teaching over 10,000 Coaches and Holistic Practitioners, this is one of the most common concerns I hear: they feel completely overwhelmed by their business and don’t know where to focus.

As you get the education you need to grow your business, the number of great ideas only increases. Which is why it’s important to learn a simple process that will help you sort through which ideas are the RIGHT ideas to move forward with, so you can get out of overwhelm and instead, take a QUANTUM LEAP to the 6- or 7-figure level.

The key to getting out of overwhelm is to create and focus on your priorities. And specifically, the priorities that support, and are in alignment with, your business vision.

To help you get this alignment and clarity about your priorities, ask yourself, “What is the ONE thing that has the biggest positive impact on my business?”

When you answer this question, it’s important to consider four areas of impact:

1. Impact on your potential clients

What is the turning point where your potential clients get the deepest transformation? Remember: your clients MUST commit to working with you on a long-term basis if they are going to have true and lasting change in their lives.

Your turning point might be your initial consultation where they see what is possible in their future and then sign up for a package of sessions.

For us, our big turning point where we make the most impact with our potential clients is when they come to the Rejuvenate Your Practice 2-Day Intensive. This is where their paradigm shifts from “selling is bad” to “I can serve my potential clients, not feel yucky, and make a huge difference in their lives while they are making the commitment to work with me.”

2. Impact on your daily life experience

What do you enjoy doing most in your business? It probably isn’t the bookkeeping or the graphics for your website – so find someone to do this for you a few hours a month so you can free up your energy.

My guess is that you enjoy working with your clients the most. If this is the case, realize that you get to do more of this work when they sign up to work with you. So again, your initial consultation is a way to introduce them to the value they can get from working with you. And you can find enjoyment in signing up new clients.

3. Impact on your bank account

Every business needs money to not only stay in business but to grow. So what do you do that has the biggest positive impact on your bank account?

Chances are it’s when you get a client, whether through initial consultations, promotional teleseminars, speaking gigs, or workshops (the four best ways to attract clients).

For us, our business makes the most mo-ney when a potential client attends the “Rejuvenate Your Practice” 2-Day Intensive. So we focus on activities that create workshop registrations, which are usually teleseminars and speaking gigs.

4. Impact on your community

This last area of impact is one not to be missed. Your work not only makes a difference in the life of your client, but also creates a ripple effect, branching out to everyone who your client touches.

You may never know how your work impacts your community, but it’s important to keep this in mind.

When a potential client attends our workshops, they strip away the stuff that keeps them from being their authentic selves (while we’re teaching them how to get new clients), and this creates a positive ripple in the greater community.

And, because having a global impact is important to us, we also contribute 75% of all of our book sales to Kiva.org, which helps third-world entrepreneurs grow their businesses and better their circumstances.

So, this is the process to use to get clear on the ONE thing that has the biggest positive impact on your business. For most Coaches and Holistic Practitioners, they find that doing initial (free) consultations is where they need to focus.

Now that you know YOUR one thing, establish an action (related to this) to take at the beginning of each workday (and do this every day so it becomes a habit).

Before you check email or phone messages or start on any task you didn’t finish yesterday, ask yourself, “What is the activity I could do today that would best support …bringing in the most new initial consultations or bringing in the most people to my workshop?”

When you get the answer, put this as the first thing to do on your list and take this action first. It might mean making follow up calls from a networking event you attended or calling that promoter who said you might be a good fit for a speaking gig, or even calling up a potential new JV partner.

We use this process I’ve shared with you, and you can be sure that every day starts with an activity that supports getting more registrations for our “Rejuvenate Your Practice” 2-Day Intensive.

Most Coaches and Holistic Practitioners are surprised to discover that they also need to create a habit of NOT doing other tasks that just don’t support their “one thing”…(as those tasks were probably just a form of procrastination).

Of course you will have ideas for changes to make to your business, or the need to work on some admin because “it just has to get done,” but do all that AFTER you do the one thing that will bring you more clients.

What if you’re not getting great results with what you’re doing?

1. Get some education and training to improve your skills in this area (yes, if you are not good at selling, you will have to learn how to become good at it while remaining authentic).

2. Stick with the thing you do that gets you the best results for now and keep learning and growing.

While this concept is simple, it may not come easy to you. This is why it really takes focus and some daily discipline to get to 6- or 7- figures. What I can tell you is that I don’t know anyone who has made it to the 6- or 7-figure level who hasn’t created a habit of consistent action towards the one thing that makes the biggest positive impact on their business.
